Thank you for using brainboop ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in relation to our mobile application. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting it.

1. Information We Collect

brainboop is designed to be a private and personal experience. We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or contact information.

All session data and application settings are stored locally on your device and are never sent to us or any third party.

However, we do collect anonymous analytics data to help us understand how the App is used, to fix bugs, and to improve the user experience.

2. Analytics

We use a third-party analytics service, GameAnalytics, to collect anonymized data about your use of the App. This data is not linked to your personal identity.

The information we collect includes:

• A Pseudonymous User ID: A randomly generated identifier that allows us to distinguish between different anonymous users. This ID is stored on your device and is not tied to any personal account.

• Session Data: We track when you start and end a session in the App and the total duration of your session.

• Device & System Information: This includes your device model, operating system (OS) version, Godot engine version, and app build version.

• Progression Events: We log which entrainment sessions you start, complete, or fail. This helps us understand which sessions are most popular and if there are any issues.

• In-App Purchase Events: If you make a purchase, an anonymized event is sent to our analytics service to record the transaction. This does not include any of your payment information.

• Error & Crash Reports: If the App encounters an error, we collect a report with information to help us diagnose and fix the problem.

This data is used exclusively for internal purposes to improve the functionality, design, and performance of brainboop.

Data Retention: Analytics data is retained by GameAnalytics according to their data retention policy. You can review their data retention practices in their privacy policy.

Your Choices Regarding Analytics

You have control over analytics data collection:

• Opt-Out: You can disable analytics at any time through the App's Settings menu. When analytics is disabled, no new data will be collected or sent to GameAnalytics. Note that this will not delete data that has already been collected.

3. In-App Purchases

The App offers optional "Pro Features" available through a one-time in-app purchase. These transactions are processed securely through the platform's official app store:

• For iOS: Apple App Store

• For Android: Google Play Store

We do not collect or have access to any of your payment information. The purchase process is handled entirely by Apple or Google. Their respective privacy policies govern these transactions. We only receive a confirmation from the app store that a purchase has been completed, and we log an anonymous event for analytics purposes. Purchase history (the fact that you unlocked Pro Features) is stored locally on your device and is used solely to restore your purchase if you reinstall the App on the same device. This purchase status is also included in anonymous analytics events (e.g., "a user unlocked Pro") but is not linked to your identity.

4. Permissions

brainboop requests a minimal set of permissions to provide its core functionality.

a. Internet Access

The INTERNET permission is required to:

• Communicate with the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to query, process, or restore in-app purchases.

• Send anonymous analytics and crash report data to GameAnalytics.

b. Flashlight

The FLASHLIGHT permission may be requested. This allows the App to control your device's camera flash LED as a light source during an entrainment session. The camera is not accessed, and no images or videos are captured.

5. Data Storage and Backup

Application data, such as your unlock status and preferences, is stored locally on your device. This also includes the randomly generated anonymous user ID for analytics. This data is subject to your device's standard backup and restore procedures. We have configured the app to disable cloud backups of this data (android:allowBackup="false" on Android) to further protect your privacy.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party service for analytics:

7. Your Privacy Rights

Data Deletion Requests

If you would like to request deletion of the analytics data we have collected about you, please visit our data deletion request page.

You will need your anonymized User ID, which can be found in the App's Settings menu.

We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Please note:

• Deletion only affects analytics data sent to GameAnalytics
• Local data stored on your device (session history, preferences) can be removed by uninstalling the App
• Purchase records maintained by Apple/Google cannot be deleted by us, as they are required for transaction records and fraud prevention

Right to Opt-Out

As described in Section 2, you can disable analytics collection at any time through the Settings menu.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
